1) What is
a Web Site?
A Web Site is a collection of data in HTML pages, similar to the one you are
currently viewing, stored in a specific place or address that can be reached
by any computer in the world with an Internet connection.
2) How would creating a web-site benefit my company?
Most of the users surfing the net are professionals who use the Internet for
business, trade, gaming, shopping, news and information, etc. By having a
web site about your company, information about your company and its
products, would be made available to these users upon request, round the
clock. This is the perfect opportunity for any business. You can fetch
business at any time, even when you are away! Locating the right customer
for the right supplier is possible through a website. Your site is also
helpful in promoting your products globally, and reduces the cost of
reaching the customers. It fulfils the need for advertising & marketing.
3) What information should my company's site contain?
Company Web Sites can have anything from four to forty or more pages. They
might include pages on the company's products and services, history,
catalogues, special promotions, customer lists etc. Pictures and graphics
about the products, adds to its audio-visual capabilities. Navigation bars,
reciprocal links to other complimentary businesses, fax, forms registration
and feedback help the visitor get around the Web Site successfully. A Full
Service Web Site could literally mean putting an entire information about
the company on Web.
4) How long does it normally take to build and host a web site?
It normally takes less than 15 days to build a web site. Hosting requires a
domain name that can be purchased for as little as Rs. 500 per year, and a
Web space, usually 10 MB to 25 MB for a small to medium website, which costs
around 2,000 to 4,000 rupees a year. Website design together with hosting
takes less than two weeks, and for web sites where lot of interactivity is
to be built in, it may take little over four weeks.
5) What do you need to finish projects in time?
If client is sure about what they want on their website and have all the
contents and images ready, then there is no chance of any project going
beyond deadline.
6) If I already have a site can you help me improve it?
Yes. We can redesign or add / modify content to an existing site, and costs
less money than building one from scratch.
7) What's more important - page loading time or looking good?
They are both important. Your web site is your on-line storefront. It should
be attractive to visitors and project a professional, polished image for
yourself and your company. Having too many graphics, or slow loading
graphics is unnecessary. If your page takes too long to load it doesn't
matter how great it looks. Many people won't wait and will leave your site
before it is fully loaded. The answer is to
have a balance of attractive graphics, good layout, and reasonable load
time.
8) How much traffic will I get?
A. It all depends on Search Engine Optimization of your site, performed by
your webmaster. Google and such other search engines follow certain
parameters to index your site. And they keep changing these parameters.
However, if your site is informative & prepared with optimization of SEO
rules, the chances of your early indexation are bright. However, its really
important to determine the success of your website, not by the number of
visitors, but how many of those visitors turn into customers.
9) How much does a web site cost?
There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the cost of your web
site. For example, how many pages you are going to have, the amount of
graphic work that is required, whether it is static or inter-active, and its
overall complexity. You should also add the cost of web space and domain
name registration. For details refer FAQ question no. 4. Designing charges
for the website vary from company to company.
